Online Employment

Online Employment

Online employment has options for the telecommuter in all of us.

Online Employment for an Online World

What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of online employment? Do you think of a mom that runs her own home business? Maybe it’s a direct sales business – and she is selling products she loves and mentors a team of recruits that’s she’s introduced to the same direct sales business. Maybe you think of the programmer that works freelance for many different clients. Or maybe you mind goes to a customer service rep for a large company that takes incoming calls regarding the companies products.

Online employment can be all of these scenarios. Many people work online these days and many are the bread winners for their family. Telecommuting covers full-time, part-time, freelance and independent contractors. Sometimes the company offering online employment offers benefits like paid holidays, insurance and a pension plan. Other jobs – maybe offer an hourly rate that’s minimum wage or not much more – but though the pay isn’t incredible and there aren’t any benefits – there are perks. Online employment offers expense savings. No gas for your car, no lunches to buy, no work clothes to wear (can I get an amen for NO panty hose!). Most of all – for many parents, no daycare expenses. Plus there is flexibility in online employment. If there are not strict work hours, you can work around your family’s schedule and activities. If there is no family obligation – then even night owls can work when they want if the employer doesn’t mind.

Online Employment Today

Thanks to technology, opportunities in online employment are more  abundant than ever. According to Wikipedia, over 50 million workers in the United States alone (that’s about 40% of the work force) could work part time from their homes. These are good odds if you’re wanting to move in the direction with your own career outside the home to an online employment arrangement.

Telecommuting has been around since the 70′s – maybe not to the ease that is available today, but still not an obscure or new idea when it comes to job arrangements. Personal computers are in almost every home. You’re probably reading this from your personal computer right now. The cost of such technology is no longer outrageous and just for a chosen few. Not only that – computers are no longer these huge monstrosities. You can get a laptop for a few hundred dollars and many weigh around 3-7 pounds. Talk about telecommuting capabilities. You couple that with WIFI everywhere and 3G and 4G networks – you could sell your house, pack an RV and travel the the United States while still being able to “work”.

Online Employment for the Average Joe (or Jane)

So since we’re all not Programmers or App Developers, how can regular folks like you and jump on the online employment wagon? My first nod is to the world of blogging. As a blogger myself, and an avid reader of other great blogs – I can honestly say this is a wonderful step to take into the telecommuting world if it’s something you really want to do. Blogging allows you to get started working online, without interfering with your current job. Create a blog allows you to write when you can and write about what you want to write about. So a job you can love and do when you can find the time. This is a great starting point for anyone wanting to dabble in the telecommuting world.

Once you have your blog going and content created on a daily basis and you start getting an audience, you can begin monetizing it and there ya go, cash from working online.

Working Online for Moms

Many moms are caught between a rock and a hard place these days. They want to be there for their children, yet they need to bring in a paycheck too. The number of day cares is on the rise year after year. Why? Because just to make ends meet, it takes two paychecks these days. Let alone the parents out there trying to raise a child alone. My Mom raised my brother, myself and my sister by herself. There wasn’t even child support. But she did it by going out and working swing shift in a factory. My Mom had a 4 year degree in speech therapy – but she didn’t have time to build a career in that field. She needed a job to raise three kids and she did what she had to. Never once did welfare or any kind of government assistance cross her mind.

Why do I tell this story? Because I think if my Mom had all the options that women have today for working online or at home, maybe things could have been different for her. For you. And for me.

There are options for us moms to work at home. These options vary according to our skills, education and experience – but the exist. If online employment is a dream for you, don’t give up easily. Whether you need to supplement your families bottom line or bring in a full time salary, through the right steps whether it’s a business plan, obtaining a degree or just making some cash online through programs like Swagbucks, Varolo and Hits4Pay — following through are key.

Online Employment Isn’t Just a J-O-B

As I mentioned before – there are ways to make money online without filling out applications or taking courses toward a degree or even attending training. I work online via this website. I research, I write. I also sell Avon and I make sure I am on  the look out for money making programs that can and do earn me cash. Though I spoke of Swagbucks and Hits4Pay and even Varolo – these are just the tip of the iceberg as far as actually earning cash online doing things you’re already probably doing online. I review many of these programs here on my site – but on your own, you can probably find many more too.

So don’t let the idea of “online employment” become solely defined by terms like JOB or BOSS or even paycheck.  I’ve been researching work at home for a long time – and after all these years – I can tell you honestly that online employment can be a lot more than just a JOB that you’re hired for. Don’t let preconceived definitions or stigmatization’s keep you from creating YOUR own definition of making money at home or having an online career.

A Nod in the Right Online Employment Direction

I wish I had the perfect online job or work at home job for everyone that came to my site looking for employment. It would be extremely fulfilling to be the person that help moms and dads – and anyone bring an income into their homes and help their lives become less stressful and more rewarding. But sadly, even though researching online employment is a big part of how I spend my time – I am not a staffing agency or hiring service. I would like to however, offer ways to make money and include job searches that might help. Below is an online search for jobs that include work at home and telecommuting positions. This coupled with many program reviews, jobs I post myself and a tremendous amount of home business ideas and business opportunities, I hope that you will find MoneyMakingMommy.com a useful tool in your  search for online employment.
