Live Chat Agents That Get to Work from Home

Live Chat Agents are fast and accurate typist and speak native-level-English. If you've got these skills, I'd like to tell you a bit more about a company I came across recently: TheChatShop.

Located in the United Kingdom, TheChatShop has been growing their business thanks to all the work from home people who join the company.

Open Positions and Training?

At the moment, they only have one job position open – it's for Live Chat Agents.

One of the best things about this company is that they provide all the training that you need and yes, training is paid. This is always nice to see for work from home jobs. Plus, if you feel stuck or have any question, you can be sure that you can call them and they will help you.

During the training, you will learn how to turn unhappy customers into happy ones (of certainly try!). And discover how to turn simple conversations and inquiries into sales.

At TheChatShop, they understand that every chat is unique. So, they provide you with the training and give you all the tools that you need to be prepared (If you've ever worked customer support from home (and I have) — help and training and support are so, so, so… appreciated.) You will be assigned to one of their teams and each team is responsible for a group/category/selection of their customers. However, you really need to be proactive and able to multitask. You may be speaking with a client about ski holidays and with another one about video on demand services at the same time.

Work at Home is Offered – How to Apply

For TheChatShop, your location doesn't matter, you are a part of the team – telecommuting is the norm.

In order to apply for the job, you need to:

– Pay attention to details and be extremely organized;
– Be a native-level English with perfect grammar, spelling, and sentence structure;
– Be able to continue focus in high-stressful situations and have the ability to multi-task;
– Have a positive personality;
– Be a good learner and ask questions;
– Be available to work between 35 and 40 hours a week;
– Have a typing speed of 80+ WPM, error free.

Interested in applying? You just need to email your CV and the following questions answered to [email protected]:

– I would make a great part of the team because…
– I am most interested in learning…
– I think I can teach you…
– A perfect live chat is one which…

This is the pre-selection. If you are accepted, you will be offered a live chat interview. The truth is that you'll probably get an email back in a couple of hours from a Team Manager. You can check here some of the interviews that are being made to candidates.

You will also be required to make a typing test so they can evaluate if you are able to write at the speed they need. After all, this is one of their requirements. (See a whole list of non-phone jobs that I have.)

The Interview to Become One of TheChatShop's Live Chat Agents

This interview will allow TheChatShop managers to decide if you might be a good fit or not as well as the kind of training that you might need. If everything goes well, you will be invited for a telephone interview. This time, it will be an interview with the previous Team Manager that you already met and one of the founders. According to most people, this interview is not hard or anything. However, you're not being checked or tested by your skills but for your personality. If your personality doesn't fit to the spirit of TheChatShop team, you may not get the job position.

If they like your skills, you'll be offered the position at the end of the call. If you accept it, you'll get an email with all the contract that you need to digitally sign as well as with all the details you need. These include the team you will be in, your working hours, and your log-in details for the training.

Just a few hours later or in the next day, you should probably get a phone call from your Team Manager who will explain you everything in detail about what is going to happen from that moment on. Make sure that you take a lot of notes.

TheChatShop seems to be a great company to work at. Most employees are happy to work there (both the ones in part-time and the ones in full-time), and they all seem to like the great communication with management, the paid training, the constructive feedback, and the flexible hours. Plus, it's always great to work from home.

In terms of the most negative comments, you may have some difficulty adjusting to the need to cover other co-workers with just a small previous notice, as well as you won't have ay benefits.

Make sure to see some of TheChatShop employees reviews here.

Of course… you're asking — pay and benefits? Live Chat Agents earn about $10 per hour. The training that you will get is paid and you will have a supportive team ready to help you out.

Summing all up, if you like to interact with other people, multi-tasking, and you're a fast typist, make sure that you apply to TheChatShop.
