Work From Home – Indiana & Illinois Content Screener Jobs

Content Screener Jobs

Legacy.com Provides Content Screener Jobs for Indiana & Illinois Residents

Legacy.com is an interesting company. They work to provide online obituary services for online publications. The company’s history date all the way back to 1998. They have a working relationship with more than 1,500 newspapers and funeral homes throughout different parks of the world. The main service that Legacy.com provides is a way for people from all over the world to offer condolences following the passing of a family member or friend. Now that the internet has people connecting, virtually, with people that live thousands of miles apart and who have never had an opportunity to meet face to face, I’d imagine the services provided by Legacy.com are more important than ever before.

Pay Range for Legacy

I’ll admit it. The pay provided by Legacy.com could be higher. The last report I heard was that they only paid about $10 an hour to those who have just started working as content screeners. It sounds like there’s an opportunity for a raise after you have worked for the company for a while, but I was unable to find how high the raises went to, or when they were offered.

I did discover that the company does try to offset the low hourly wage by providing a pretty sweet benefits package.

This package includes:
– Paid Vacation Time
– A 401k plan, which includes discretionary company matching
– Vision Discount Program

I don’t know how long you have to work as a content screener for Legacy.com before you’re eligible for these benefits.

Content Screener Jobs Work Hours

Legacy.com expects their content screeners to work in 4-hour shift blocks. They do warn that they’re looking for applicants who don’t already have a full-time job. They feel that the demanding nature of the work Legacy provides, in combination to a steady, full-time job, is too much for most freelance contractors.

What I Learned About These Content Screener Jobs

Despite my best efforts, I wasn’t able to learn a much I’d like about the company and the opportunities provided to those of us who prefer to work at home. I did find enough information at places like the WAHM.com forums to convince me that that the company is legit.

Believe it or not, I actually find the lack of information and reviews from people who have worked as content screener for this company encouraging. It’s been my experience that when people find a great work at home opportunity, they tend to stay quiet about it, because they want to keep as much of the work, and the earnings, to themselves as possible. On the other hand, when the experience is horrible, they have no problem filling the internet with a great deal of negativity and warning people to stay away from the company.

Final Thoughts

Remember, at this point, Legacy.com is only looking for individuals who live in either Indiana or Illinois. If you live in either of these states, and meet the rest of Legacy’s requirements, I think it’d be a good idea to apply. I feel that the company would provide you with a steady stream of income. Just remember, don’t rely on them for more than 1/3 or your monthly income. My advice is to use them for a small, steady portion of your weekly earnings and focus a few hours each day to trying to find higher paying, but perhaps less steady sources of work at home income. The low income, combined with the benefits offered by the company, should make it a worthwhile income source.

I’m sure they get bombarded with so many applicants that the competition is steep. I’m not saying you’re not qualified — I’m just saying it’s probably a tough gig to land. But a great job it seems in any case.

  2. Personally wouldn’t waste your time on this one. I honestly don’t know what this company is looking for. I have put in for this one for years and not any word back from them no rejection or anything back when sending in my resume. I have put in for any time and still nothing. I have heard this is entry-level I also live in IL as well. What a shame.

  3. I think it’s a good idea to have a few income streams set up. I wish I lived in these states, as I would definitely apply for some work with them
