Stay Home – Write Articles for Cash

If you are looking for another writing website to add to your arsenal of money making opportunities, Need An Article is the perfect option. This content company hires writers to do articles on a variety of topics and you are paid after articles are completed. If you’ve worked with Writer’s Domain, Textbroker, or other content mills, you already know the logistics of this kind of work. If you do a consistently good job, you can make good income writing online with these companies. Need An Article stands out from the crowd as a great opportunity with rates that are higher than average.

Get A Job With Need An Article

Applying for a writing job is a simple process. Currently, Need An Article has applications on hold and they have a message up that says they are not hiring. However, rumors around work at home forums predict this will change any day now as their business is growing. You can take the first step by joining their writer’s waiting list. Then a representative will contact you to take the next step to secure a writing position.

Once you begin the application process, you will have to take a quick grammar test to prove that you have a good grasp on the English language. You would be surprised at how many foreign writers apply for these positions when they have not yet even mastered simple grammar. Don’t let this test intimidate you. It’s actually really easy!

Next, you can test into various categories to qualify for various writing niches. To get the most work possible, you should attempt to test into a lot of categories. The exams are basic and you just need an overall knowledge of the subject matter to pass.

How Much Money Can I Make With Need An Article?

There are a lot of content mills out there that pay low rates and have high expectations. In the past, I’ve had some bad experiences with these sites that don’t allow you to make enough per hour to be worth your time. However, Need An Article seems to be the exception to the content mill’s low-paying rule. This site actually offers really competitive rates and there is potential to have a great income if you score enough work each week.

When you complete your exams, Need An Article will assign you a level in each category. The better your test scores, the higher your level will be. Your level in each category determines pay rates. So if you write amazing articles in the technology niche, but struggle to write medical articles, that’s okay. Just expect to make more money per article in the technology category since your test scores will be higher in that area.

Need An Article breaks it down into four levels:

• Essential Skills – earn .0129/word
• Better Skills – earn .02/word
• Higher Skills – earn .03/word
• Exceptional Skills – earn .05/word

For those who are already working as freelance writers, these rates seem almost too good to be true! When you think about the rates in terms of a 500 word article, you can expect to be paid anywhere from $6.25 to $25 per article… wow!

Keep in mind that you will have commissions going to Need An Article out of this total amount. They withhold 7% of your article earnings as their commission. This still leaves you with above average rates for standard Internet writing. Even at the lowest pay level, you are going to make more money with Need An Article than you make at the highest earnings level for many other writing websites.

If you want to maximize your earnings, try to reach higher levels. You can always retake a test if you bomb it the first time. There are also situations where you can make additional bonuses on top of standard rates if the article requires a lot of research.

How Will I Get Paid?

Need An Article issues payments to writers every Friday. You don’t have to wait on client acceptance to get paid. After you submit the article, your account is automatically credited for the completed work. Payments are sent through PayPal.

So What’s the Catch?

It sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? I have to admit that I was a little baffled when I started digging up information on Need An Article. How can they afford to pay writers so well when other content mills pay pennies on the dollar in comparison? I turned to forums and blogs to see what people were saying about their own experiences with Need An Article.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. I did notice a lot of people mentioning that it was hard to get a lot of work unless you are quick. Some articles are automatically assigned to specific writers, but I think that’s actually a good sign. If you do a good job, you could get consistent work from repeat buyers.

Need An Article does give writers a minimum quota, but it’s really low and shouldn’t be hard to maintain. If you sign up as a full-time writer, you must do at least six articles per week. Part-time writers are only required to do four articles each week.

The Bottom Line

Ultimately, I think Need An Article is a fantastic opportunity for those who enjoy writing and want to make money with freelancing. If you make good scores on your tests and consistently do good work, there is unlimited potential to grow your income and writing career with this company. If you are even remotely interested in giving it a try, I suggest that you sign up for the waiting list so you will be notified when new writers can begin testing.

Need An Article is destined to grow in popularity as more writers discover their rates and rush to join the company. Get ahead of the pack by signing up for the waiting list now. It’s a good first step to reaching your work at home dreams.

**UPDATE: The site is still up and operating – but they don’t appear to be taking any new writers. http://needanarticle.com/
