FREELANCE TYPING
Where to find freelance typing jobs.

Freelance Typing Job Resources
By Kelly Land, © 2006-2008, All rights reserved.
Freelance typing is a hot topic here at MoneyMakingMommy.com. Emails pour in
every week from those wanting a part-time or full time freelance typing job from
home.
A bit like shamrocks and leprechauns, freelance typing jobs are out there for those that are
willing to hunt and believe. Not just believe in the job--but believe in
themselves.
Make sure if you're going on a freelance typing job hunt -- that you prepare as
if you were going on a safari! Have everything you need READY.
The Freelance Typing Job Hunt Supply List:
-Current, personal
cover letter
-Current resume
-Office equipment and software that concurs with job qualifications
-Skills that meet qualifications or preferably exceed them
If you're gonna go out there in the "telecommuting" wilderness, you better be
ready to fight it out with the best. Working at home has become so HOT, it's
competitive and cut throat.
OK...if you have your supplies ready...
Then you're reading to start hunting. Where to hunt is truly a jungle. I've been
on the internet since 1992 and, wow, has there gotten to be a lot of ..... mind
my French.....crap out there!
Listen, I never recommend paying for any kind of "job". And when I say JOB, I
mean employment with a company. I'm not talking about information or
memberships. I get asked this SO much my ears almost bleed now when it's asked.
"Why should I pay someone to work for them? Some of the things on your site ask
for money?"
First of all -- I am not personally asking you for money and I am not personally
hiring anyone. Secondly -- yes, there are advertisers on the site that offer
various products. Do not confuse "employment" with "information". Selling you a
list of fabulous websites to find mystery shopping jobs is not the same as
asking you to pay money to be a mystery shopper. People are SO quick to scream
SCAM that's it's gotten a bit silly. If you're going to buy a product or service
regarding work at home, whether it's a membership or information - here are the
rules:
1. ASK for refund policy procedures.
2. Ask for contact info for customer service
3. Ask for referrals (sometimes costumers do not allow their info to be shared
though)
4. KNOW what you are buying and bookmark the website!!!!!!!!
5. Do a search for the company or product and see what comes up. (Good or Bad)
Now.... all that being said...
Job Hunting HOW-TO
Of course you need to sign up at both
Monster and
Job.com. These websites are
totally free. It takes seconds to set up your account. You can also set up
keywords and have them searched for each day - the results can be conveniently
emailed to you! Totally worth taking advantage of!
Beyond is a large site that offers
free tools to job seekers as well.
There are also websites geared toward typing-type work:
MT
Daily: Transcription and Editing type work.
And more job sites:
Employment911 - Search over 300 job
sites in one click. Resume Posting On ALL The Top 80 Job Site
Also freelance websites:
You can also check out the
Work at Home Section that I
provide. My FREE
weekly newsletter provides work at home and telecommuting jobs in
it as well. (Both are free resources!)
I provide a list of over
150 job sites on the internet. This list
is available for $29.95 for one year access. This is a list I have worked on for
over 7 years and I continually update it.
By having your skills on par with what the employer is looking for, having your
home office equipped with the essentials and approaching the employer
professionally with your credentials (resume and cover letter), you are already
miles ahead of many, many people that reply to freelance and work at home
positions. Some people just reply....."I'd like to have this job. Email me
back." Yep...that's how they respond to a job ad. Can you imagine what an
employer does with those responses?
Be looking all the time. Keep track of what you've applied for and what sites
you've visited. That way you can follow up with an employer and avoid applying
twice for the same job.
Bottom line...
Approach it like you would any other job. Just because it's freelance or work at
home or telecommuting doesn't mean you can apply any ole way. It's not an open
invitation to just be all laid back and nonchalant.
Best of luck to you and remember to take of yourself along the way.
