Teaching English at Same Speak
I recently learned about Same Speak. It’s a program that has been created to help people learn how to speak English, and they’re currently looking for coaches. It’s a new and interesting way to earn extra money while working at home.
If English isn’t your first language, you’re not going to be accepted into the Same Speak coaching program. Not only do you have to speak well, but you also need to be able to explain how to converse in English. Same Speak does require that all coaches be at least 16 years old. Your computer needs to be set up for Skype. You should also enjoy talking and working with people.
What You’ll Have to Do
Working for Same Speak isn’t difficult, but you need to be willing to devote some time. As a coach you’re going to have to use your Skype program and talk to the students for a half hour. Since the idea of program is to make it possible for the students to communicate, you’ll be able to use conversational English. Same Speak provides coaches with information for each chat session. The instructions will include specific details about what specific things the student you’ll be chatting with needs to work on.
Same Speak pays $10 for every half hour session. The company uses PayPal and so before you apply for a coaching position you will want to create an account and make sure you’ve verified it. If you have earned a minimum of $100, you can expect the money to be deposited into your account each Friday, however Same Speak has also set things up so that you can occasionally request your money even if you haven’t quite reached that $100 mark.
Personally, I love working for Same Speak. It’s an interesting way to earn some money and the pay is pretty good, however, it’s not going to be for everyone. If you don’t like chatting on Skype, or you don’t have stellar people skills, you’re probably not going to enjoy Same Speak.
The other issue with the program is that they don’t have a lot of students at the moment, so the work isn’t steady.
Right now Same Speak doesn’t have many opening for coaches, but it is a legit work at home opportunity. If it sounds like something you would be interested in, I strongly urge you to keep an eye on the website and apply as soon as they start looking for coaches again.
