App Testing for Testbirds

Trying to survive on a work at home income means I really can’t afford to ignore any potential source of income, or opportunity to save money that comes my way, which is why I sat up and took note when I first learned of Testbirds

What is Testbirds?

Testbirds is a company that designs mobile apps, some of which can be used to help save money on day to day activities. Even more importantly, they’re looking for people who would be interested in testing out the apps they’ve designed and providing feedback. This in turn, allows folks like you and me to get paid to test apps and websites.

What You’d Be Doing

Although I’ve never worked for Testbirds, nor have I ever been an app tester, I have to say the job description sounds pretty cool. If my application gets accepted I’d receive software that would let me test out computer/phone/tablet apps and even some software, websites, devices, and games. I’m guessing I’ll start off testing pretty simple app programs that are in the final stages of development and then be able to work my up to bigger and better testing projects.
It certainly doesn’t seem like the kind of job that would ever get boring.

TestBirds Pay

I’m not sure what the average salary for an app tester is, so I don’t know if Testbirds offer to pay 20 Euros per user test is reasonable or not, nor do I know how complicated some of these user tests will be an how much time it will take. I have heard that Testbirds is very good about treating their freelance software testers with respect and that they have a reputation for paying on time. When I applied, asked my country and didn’t automatically reject my application when I checked the United States so I assume they take testers from both the UK and US.

Flexible Schedule

It’s my understanding that the degree of flexibility you’ll experience at Testbirds depends on you. The company doesn’t have a minimal participation commitment, however, if you agree to test a product, you will be expected to give it a adequate amount of testing and you’ll have to meet the deadlines. All of this information will be made available to you before you commit to the testing project.
Testbirds is a legit work at home opportunity and provides a fun way to earn money, so as long as you have a mobile device with internet capabilities, I urge you to consider filling out the application.

  1. I stay in South Africa. I am also a stay at home mom and would like to earn some extra income from home… Not sure though if you use guys from these parts of the world, but then there’s no harm in asking now, is there? TIA*

  2. I actually did earn $10 from doing a test for them. It was for a kit that makes electricity out of mud/dirt. A science project for kids. I looked over all the marketing details and the video – then filled out a feedback form and I was paid $10 to PayPal.

Is very, very strange that nobody say it earn some money. However the web is full (more and more pages) page of advertising them. VERY STRANGE!

  4. Hi Kelly, Josephine from Testbirds here! Thanks for the post. You’re absolutely right, we hire freelance testers to test a variety of apps and websites, we don’t make them ourselves but companies hire us to test theirs. We have testers from all over the world and are currently seeking to expand our US crowd so we really appreciate your post :)
