Career Step Medical Transcription and Medical Coding Training
I want to touch today on Career Step programs for at home careers. By far, I am asked about jobs in medical transcription and medical billing and coding that can be done from home. I've even considered medical billing and coding for myself. Of course, neither of these types of careers are jobs you can just apply for. You do have to have training. And in many cases, you'll need certifications.
But what if you could train at home for the at-home career you want? Now that is something I think all of us work at home jobseekers would be interested in. We're expecting snow tonight here in the mountains. For me, being able to just “go to class” right on my laptop and not have to stress about what the weather is going to do — that in and of itself is a lovely, calming thought. (I have other classes and courses I recommend for work at home jobseekers here. Some I have actually taken myself.)
But Training Costs a Fortune
Training isn't free. Whether you decide to attend a community college or online training – it's typically not free. BUT, affordable training is possible. And – for some of us seeing training in medical billing and coding or medical transcription, depending on our state there are actual grants to be had.
But I specifically want to talk about Career Step and what they have to offer us as far as at home training and classes. I'm focusing mainly on the medical billing and coding courses and the medical transcription courses because that is what I get asked about the most. As well — these are worthwhile careers to pursue in my opinion for anyone wanting to work from home.
Career Step's programs are affordable — absolutely. (And it's not just for the programs mentioned above — they offer classes on so many other professions too!) They offer tuition discounts, MyCAA funding for military family members and even free laptops and ipads throughout the year.
Like right now! For the first half of February they have an opportunity for students to receive a free iPad or $500 off their tuition. ALL students receive free instructor support, free graduate support and job search advice and free certification exam vouchers up to $570.
If You're Serious About a CAREER at Home…
If you're very serious about working from home and having an actual career… not just a job– then I whole-heartedly recommend checking out Career Step. They've been around for a very long time and have a wonderful reputation.
You can get all the details regarding their current February Special here. This includes who is eligible, what classes/courses qualify and MyCAA funding. When I was looking into the courses for myself, I had someone from Career Step personally reach out to me and ask me if I was aware of grants in North Carolina that would cover 80% of my tuition (this was last year – so I'm not sure if those grants are still available).
You are not obligated whatsoever for asking for information. Check out all the details by going to CareerStep.com.
