How You Can Train at Home in Order to Work at Home

Online Training and Virtual Courses for a Work at Home Career

I went to college.
I’m proud of that fact. Not only did I go to college and earn a 4 year degree, I paid for all of it but one semester myself. AND…..I worked a 12 night shift IN a factory for 2 years of it. So yes – I am proud of my college education. I did it with my own money, my own perseverance. It can be done.

I feel like that college education helped me achieve more than I ever would have with just a high

school education. I don’t mean that as an insult to those with no college degree, not at all – I just know that MY personality, my thought process…I needed something like college to help me see that their was more to the world than making “decent” money in a factory.

It showed me I had many talents. I could write, I could direct, I could be an on-air radio personality, a weather announcer, a reporter. I would discover I loved art, I loved music – all kinds of music– even types I’d never heard of.

At 18 I tried college – and flunked out. My parents said – no more money from us. I decided I didn’t need or want to go to college. But….after a taste of the “real” world – and working 12 hour shifts in a factory – I knew I didn’t want to do that forever if I didn’t have to. (My husband and I met at that factory, and I made a lot of wonderful friends….so it was not all bad!) So…I went to admissions on a day off, sign up for a few classes….and the rest is history. It was tough – I worked either a 12 night shift while I went or I held three part time jobs while I went. But I did it.

But now….it doesn’t have to be that hard. Wow – if only there had been online classes and courses back in the late 80s and early 90s! It would have had to of been easier. Taking a class from your own home? Insane. But that’s what many are doing these days.

Article 01/26/2009: The Main Street Business Journal – Utah
“Distance and online education used to be viewed as the wave of the future, but the success of the WGU graduates proves that the future is now….”

So you’re thinking….so what?
I don’t even know what I’d be good at….or what I want to learn.

Why not do a search and see what interests you? Have free information sent to your home! It doesn’t obligate you to anything. But it sure does give you a place to start. I sent away for course info on Anatomy and Physiology. And after receiving the info….I’m seriously considering taking the online course. I’ve always had an interest in holistic medicine and the body – and hey…..life aint over ’til it’s over…I want to keep on learning.

Whatever you decide to do – getting free info at Monster Learning or Penn Foster is a good start. It allows you to explore – to begin a path. And who knows what kind of journey that path will lead you.

Don’t be afraid. Take that first step. Many are doing it every day.

Heck….we might “see” each other in an online class – because I’m definitively exploring options!
