How Beyond.com Can Help You Find Online Jobs
Now remember – not all of our work at home challenges will be money making programs. The goal is find ways to make money at home and includes ways to find jobs that you can do from home.
I am always posting work at home jobs here at MoneyMakingMommy.com. I know for many of you, it's a real job or nothing. You don't want to watch ads or click emails, you don't want to refer others, or have a business. You want a J-O-B. Ok, I hear ya. Loud and clear. That's why today's challenge is going to look at job searching for those that want to telecommute (work at home).
Beyond.com Has Been Around – a Trustworthy Resource
When I am searching for online jobs to post on my site, I use tons of resources. One of these resources in Beyond.com. If you want to go way back – Beyond.com or what it is today – started back in 1998. Back then is was a smaller site based around Philadelphia based jobs and aptly named PhillyJobs.com. Obviously the site has grown, morphed and be renamed. It is one of the largest online job search sites on the internet today.
How Can Beyond.com Help Me Find Work at Home?
Well – lets look into that closer. Because like I said, I use Beyond.com to search for work at home jobs almost daily. Let me show you how I do that. It's easy – and you can get started today as well.
You're going to want to register with Beyond.com. It's easy to do – just a few basic inputs:
Fill in your info…
The more thorough you are filling out your profile, the better the job match ups will be for you. There is no sense in leaving it blank because then there is nothing to use for matching you positions that have come open. This is if you're wanting to work online or work outside the home. Both situations. And for most of us right now – a job is a job. We need work to keep it all going and it doesn't matter if the job allows you to work at home or not. I know that's what we all WANT – but we have to be realistic too.
I have experience in real estate and running a real estate office – so I am actively looking for a real estate assistant job that I can do from home, but if I can't find that – I will take a position outside the home if it pays enough and the hours work for me.
Once you've signed up – the fun begins.
Setting Up Job Alerts Using Beyond.com
Now, you're going to wonder why you hadn't done this before. It's so easy and so helpful for everyone looking for a home based job or a way to work online.
You're going to want to look for the Search tab in the top left of the site when you're logged into your account:
Click on Jobs – and it will take you to a new screen. It should be on the left hand side.
Now let me tell you how I go about setting up my alerts. Then you can go from there and set yours up. When I am looking specifically for work at home jobs – these are the kind of alerts I set up.
“this is a remote position”
“this is a virtual position”
These are just a few of the terms you can try if you like. I know yours might vary, depending on what type of career or job you're looking for or what your qualifications, skills or expertise is. But these are just some general terms that might help you get started.
You can set up your alerts to come to you daily – which is what I do. It truly is easy as that.
Does Beyond.com Charge a Fee
Absolutely not. As a jobseeker, there is no expense to you. Setting up your resume and alerts are free. So really there is no reason to not take advantage of this job search tool.
