Poshmark Review – Sell Your Clothes with This Handy App

Poshmark

Your Crowded Closet Could Mean Extra Money for You

Wouldn’t it be incredible if there was an app that let you buy and sell used clothes in minutes? Well, there is and it’s call Poshmark. This is an addictive app that you can download to your iPhone or iPad and it works a lot like a virtual yard sale. You can post photos of clothes, jewelry, or shoes that you don’t want or need anymore. Then other buyers can shop for your items and you make some quick cash. You can literally sell clothes with a few taps or clicks!

The app itself is free, but you can’t use Poshmark on the computer. You have to download it from the app store. I have been using this app for a while and I’ve been able to successfully sell quite a few items as I cleaned out my closet and jewelry stash. It’s really an addictive app once you start using it, but there are a few things you need to know to avoid any scams.

How PoshMark Works

Once you download the app, you sign up using your email address or a Facebook account. Once you’re signed in, you just post your items with a photo and the price you want. It takes less than a minute to post an item and sometimes, I have been able to make a sell within just a few hours after posting. To increase your chances of selling, give good descriptions and make sure your photos are really clear. (Find out lots of other ways to cash in selling clothes.

You can also earn $50 in spending cash to use on Poshmark just by referring others. When your friends download the Poshmark app and sign up with your code you BOTH earn a $5 credit (up to 10 invites).

My code is BVZIJ, if you would like to throw a $5 credit my way. (Thank you in advance!)

Keep in mind that buyers have the option to negotiate the price with you so you might want to set your prices a little higher than your bottom line to give you room to haggle. You can also offer to bundle items, giving the buyer a discount if they purchase a minimum amount.

Once an item sells, Poshmark will email you a prepaid shipping label that you can print out. Then just pack up the items and drop them off at the post office. Once the buyer receives their items in the mail, they have a chance to inspect everything and make sure it is what they wanted and that it doesn’t have a defect. If they chose to return it and can prove the items have a legitimate defect, you have to pay for shipping. Poshmark works hard to protect both sellers and buyers and they are pretty fair with their return policies.

How You Get Paid

Sell Your Clothes Right Now!

Once the buyer receives their items and everything is finished, Poshmark deposits the money into your account. They take a 20 percent cut off each sold item and then your profits are deposited to your bank account or Paypal account. You can also request a check if you prefer.

How to Avoid Scams Using PoshMark

Unfortunately, there are some people on Poshmark that are trying to scam people so if you shop on the app, be careful. Just follow the Poshmark rules and you should be fine. Some buyers might offer to trade, but do not accept these offers. It is against Poshmark rules and they will not help you if you end up getting scammed out of items during a trade. Make sure all payments are processed through the app if you want seller protection.

The Bottom Line

Ultimately, I really love Poshmark and I highly recommend it. This app is a free, easy way to sell your items quickly and you will be surprised at how quickly things sell if you are posting nice items. Follow Poshmark’s rules and you will be safe against any con artists out there. Get more info here.
