JOB DESCRIPTION AND DETAILS
POSITION SUMMARY: As a member of the MCG CARE department, this individual will play a critical role in the design, production, development, editing, and review of clinical content. The individual will monitor assignments independently, ensuring that deadlines are met. Position requires collaboration with other departments and individuals.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Successful accomplishments and primary accountabilities of this position will depend upon establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of people. Such people may include MCG staff, clients, vendors, Hearst Corporate and Service Center and visitors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Minimum five years direct clinical experience - required, with:
Previous experience in level of care consistent with product authoring - preferred (eg, if writing for Home Care product, previous home health experience preferred)
Diverse clinical experience - preferred
Minimum of three years in case management - required;
Utilization review experience - required
Discharge planning and care coordination experience – required
Disease/chronic condition management or health coaching - required
Worker’s compensation experience - a plus
Familiarity with MCG publications - required
Ability to work independently and exercise good clinical and analytic judgment - required
Ability to discern clinically relevant information from medical literature - required
Ability to work constructively with cross-functional teams - required
Writing experience with publication - preferred
Experience with healthcare quality standards, initiatives, and accreditation or certification from healthcare quality organizations - preferred
Active, current, unrestricted RN License in a state or territory of the United States required
S.N. or advanced degree - required
Case management certification - preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Requires ability to communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing.
