$10 an hour - Part-time, Temporary, Contract
What is Gaggle? Gaggle was launched in 1999 and was one of the pioneering companies to provide a safe student email solution. Since then Gaggle has grown to offer so much more. We have grown to be a leader in safe technology within the K-12 market. Gaggle currently provides safe student communication tools to more than 15,000 schools while managing over 2 million accounts and storing more than 750 million emails.
Gaggle Safety Management is a 24/7 service credited with uncovering drug use, bullying, threats of school violence, teen depression, suicidal intentions, and abusive domestic situations. We’re looking for new Safety Representatives to help us review and analyze content in student accounts. This will be a part-time/temporary position with up to 38 hours available per week. You choose your own hours and work when you are able.
It is important to note that this position is dependent on available work. This means your contract could end at any time and may be as short as one week . We cannot guarantee any length of time for the contract, nor can we guarantee the amount of work/hours available every week. We will do our best to make sure you are aware of possible lulls in available work as well as when we might expect a surge in items to review.
Job duties include:
Analyzing student activity for inappropriate usage.
Reviewing filtered items to distinguish between items of concern and false positives.
Determining if a filtered item indicates a threat to student wellbeing.
Recognizing and advising coworkers of potentially troublesome issues and trends within the Gaggle student base, as well as national issues that might negatively impact students.
Recommending process improvements.
Adapting to changes in process and quickly adjusting workflow as necessary.
Communicating with a nationwide team via chat.
Job requirements include:
Highly motivated self-starter with a proven ability to deliver.
Ability to review 250+ items per hour.
Strong written communications skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Experience using computer and web-based applications in a professional environment.
Attention to detail.
Strong literary background, including reading for work (classes, etc.) or pleasure.
Experience with social media and internet culture.
Awareness of trends and slang used by children and teenagers.
An open mind and tolerance of and respect for other’s opinions.
Experience with Slack or other business-based chat applications is a plus.
