Hiring a Data Entry Clerk – Work From Home – $17.50 – $22.50 an Hour

We are a leading tax law firm in San Francisco looking for an accurate, attentive and hardworking data entry clerk! We are a high-volume Firm looking for the right team player to join our productive and team-oriented environment.

Under direct supervision the incumbent is responsible for various administrative and clerical tasks for the firm including but not limited to timely and efficient data entry into the firm’s customer relationship management and tax preparation systems, special projects as assigned, scanning, copying, and processing inbound and outbound mail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Efficiently and accurately enter data and update our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Tax Preparation systems with client information.
  • Perform data entry in the completion and execution of various forms and documents.
  • Review discrepancies in data received and perform data verification routines based on established processes and procedures.
  • Consult with staff on matters effecting data entry.
  • Performs various administrative tasks and projects based on firm needs.


  • Maintain positive working relationship with clients and members of the firm.
  • Carries out duties in compliance with all federal and state regulations and guidelines.
  • Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
  • Remains current in profession and industry trends.
  • Makes a positive contribution as demonstrated by: Making suggestions for improvement, learning new skills, procedures and processes.
  • Is available for other duties as required.
  • Is available for overtime as needed.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two (2) years of industry experience performing data entry activities in the legal or financial industry.
  • One (1) year of industry experience using a customer relationship management system.


  • Read and interpret documents such client intake forms and standard operating procedures.


  • Demonstrated experience entering data with quality and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment with high volume task assignment.
  • Familiar with a variety of CRM systems.
  • Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
  • Computer skills: Enter data into firm tax and CRM software and systems. Work and be proficient with Microsoft Suite including Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining speed of work and attention to detail without loss to production.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle or feel, and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, and kneel.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
