GameSkinny: Part-Time Editor | WORK AT HOME

GameSkinny is looking for a Part-Time Editor based in a North American time zone (or possibly the UK). This is a fully-remote role; location restraint is due to the need for time zone coverage, since GameSkinny has an international news room. As a Part-Time Editor you will ensure that articles meet GameSkinny standards before publishing, help with overseeing the daily management of the writing team, and, on occasion, write a story yourself.

GameSkinny's video game news and information is written by gamers, curated by a team of seasoned editors and governed by a belief that games and gaming are a positive experience for all. Interested candidates should have in-depth knowledge of gaming and must be comfortable working on articles that encompass a variety of subjects and genres.

Requirements:

• 2-3 years of prior editorial or game guide writing experience
• Ability to provide positive constructive criticism
• Knowledge of copy editing, grammar, and AP style.
• Fluency in English and at least a working knowledge of Japanese as a second language

Preferred qualifications:

• 1+ years of editing experience
• Previous experience with Google Analytics and Google Trends
• A love for video games and the industry

Pay rate: $25 USD per hour. (Salary range may differ for international candidates, based on location.)
