Survey Sites – Cash Maker or Waste of Time?
Lets first define how much cash we should really expect from taking a survey online. How much is enough for 15 minutes of your time?
If the average wage is $8 hour – that means your 15 minutes should be at least worth $2 right? Well… if you were working a job for $8 an hour, you had spend gas to get there, time to get there and you have to pay taxes. So now your $8 an hour is maybe $1.75. Fair enough?
You think your 15 minutes is worth $5, $10….. $20? Right? That would be nice… but you see using the scenario above there has to be perspective when it comes to taking surveys online.
So I’m going to say that the first thing we need to set straight for online survey taking, is that you need to be realistic about how much you’re going to make taking surveys and how much time you’re going to invest. Want to make $10 a day? That is very do-able if you find the right surveys. Want to spend less than 15 minutes taking surveys – well, maybe you can make $3 on average?
Surveys Are Scams (Not True)
As much as that’s easy to say, I am proof that it’s just not true. I have made money taking surveys online. Period. I’ve earned points taking surveys and redeemed those points for cash – so no matter what anyone out there says, I am telling you that I *have* made money taking simple surveys.
Now – that being said…. Yes, there are scammy survey sites. Do your research and read the fine print. Protect yourself and be smart about your personal information, your time and your money. If 15 minutes of your time isn’t worth $3 – then don’t bother. That’s your prerogative. I personally make $50 or more a month taking surveys and to me it’s worth my time.
If a site is asking for your social security number in order to take a survey… hmmmmm – I’d investigate that a little deeper and ask questions, make calls and find out WHO you’re giving that info to and why. If you DO earn more than $600 a year through a single survey site, you WILL have to give your social security information. It’s the law. A 1099 must be issued.
The Survey Sites I Currently Use and Get Paid To Do
This is the fun part. I get to share with you where I take surveys. These are all sites that I have earned cash or points that I can redeem for cash on an ongoing basis. Some I have used for years – others are newer, but I am always trying out new sites in order to add to my cash flow and to simply try before YOU waste your time. Because I always pass along anything I have found to be a money maker.
– Though they have changed a little over the years, I have always been paid and I always make money month after month. Not only do I participate in their surveys, but I also use their coupons to save money and earn money at the grocery store. You receive $5 for signing up.
– Oh boy – this site has been around a long time too and I have spoken with the owner personally on many occasions. A very nice guy that is genuinely trying to spread the wealth. I not only take surveys at this site, I also am paid to post in the forum and click on ads. You receive $5 for signing up.
– I consistently make $3 a survey and I get about 5 a month. They don’t take a long time and payments are instant. Pretty sweet. They have a fabulous reputation and have been around for a very long time. You cannot just sign up – you have to find a sign up banner when they are posted and sign up then. The link I have here may or may not work – but last I checked, it was working for USA residents.
– I’ve made over $100 a year with this site. I’ve even gotten to do some product testing. There are lots of ways to earn cash, not just surveys. I’ve never had any issues and actually enjoyed myself. Most receive a survey to take within 24 hours of signing up! Plus when you take surveys and take polls you get entries into their sweepstakes. They have an app too!
Surveys Can Earn You Cash
Bottom line – there are lots of legitimate ways to earn cash online. There are many great survey sites out there. Find 10 survey sites and sign up for them. Be consistent and visit each day to take polls, surveys or the tasks they offer. You won’t get rich (but you might win one of their sweepstakes!), but you can truly make money taking surveys online. For me – the extra $75 to $100+ a month is worth the effort and allows me to splurge at times on things like books, movies, steaks for grilling or whatever… it’s just nice to have that little extra mad money!
