Using WordPress to Start a Blog
Using WordPress to express your inner blogger.
There are many ways to get your opinion heard thanks to advanced internet technology. One of those ways is through a blog. There are a handful of places to look for a blog and WordPress is one of them. When you create a blog using WordPress, the first step is to visit the home page. There will be a green “Sign Up Now!” button on the upper right hand side. Select this button to register for the free account. To do this you need an email address which has not been registered on WordPress before. The next step is to enter the required information. After selecting this button, you are then prompted to create a username as well as a password. After this, you will enter your email address, and then read the terms and the conditions of the website. Once you agree to the terms and conditions using WordPress website, you click that you agree
After this step, you enter the information which you want displayed such as your domain name, blog title, language, and then select or unselect the privacy options. The domain name will end with “.wordpress.com” and is what other people can search for when they want to find your blog. The domain name cannot be changed later but the user name can be. If your blog is public, then when people conduct searches in google, they will be able to find it. After this step is completed, then your account is active and an email will be sent to the email address provided to confirm the log-in information which you provided.
At this point you are provided with an overview to your user dashboard on WordPress. After logging in with your confirmation email, your new blog takes you to the user dashboard. It is here that you are able to cater and select specific themes or designs, write your posts and your pages, add any users, revise any of the profile, or update the blogroll. There are various tools and features meant for you to explore which will customize your blog. There is also a support tab on the upper right hand corner of the screen which can help you at any time. This will bring you to a forum where questions can be posed or to online help sections.

With the new blog and WordPress dashboard toolbar, you will be able to navigate through the administration pages which includes information on writing your posts, moderating any comments left, customizing the sidebars, or modifying the current theme. By taking time to explore each of the tabs, you will have a better understanding of all of the things which you can do with your blog using WordPress. Of these many options, the free templates and themes are located under the tab marked “presentation” on the toolbar. By looking through the themes you can try several designs before determining which one suits your blog the best.
