The Founders Affiliate of the American Heart Association is recruiting
to fill an outside sales/fundraising position in Northern Fairfield
County. Under the direction of the Vice President, the Director is
responsible for implementing the American Heart Association's Jump Rope
for Heart and Hoops for Heart events in upper Fairfield County, and
portions of New Haven County. This position works with school based
coordinator, (typically the PE Teacher) to raise funds through our
school based educational fundraising program. Current fundraising goal
is $360,000. The Director will act as the American Heart Association
liaison with schools in the territory and is responsible for achieving
income and recruitment goals through the management of existing
customers, and prospecting for and cultivating of new school accounts.
While this is a home based position you work in the field visiting
schools in your territory during the school day and work at home when
school is not in session. This position requires you to be in the
territory 85% of your time. We offer a yearly salary of $46,000, a
yearly incentive for exceeding the fundraising goals for the position,
travel reimbursement and a great benefits package.
The ideal person for this position has at least two years of face to
face outside sales or fundraising experience, is self motivated,
organized, works well independently, is comfortable with public speaking
and has intermediate to expert skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and has
worked with a data management program. This person must be able to
travel daily to schools in their territory, to Wallingford, CT for
monthly meetings and to NYC, NY and Dallas, Texas as required.
