How do you keep your kids entertained while you're working at home?

I try to get most of my work done BEFORE they get up in the morning! I have 3 children 8, 4 and 20 months. If I have to work when they are up I have THE WIGGLES on or BLUES CLUES. I can sit and hold my 20 month old while I work. My 4 yr old just plays, he does entertain my little one too, most of the time. They play well together.
I have known people that have a special box of toys that are only taken out while mommy works. They play beside her. I think that is great we can even have this problem. Our team is mostly a bunch of moms anyway, so everyone understands that is part of our job, and we would not want it any other way!!!

My oldest--of course goes off to school. And my 5 year old will go to school in the Fall. (Thank goodness!) But for the most part--I've made a little desk for her beside mine. She has paper, all kinds of pens and pencils in a cup - gluestick, safety scissors....
And she "goes to work" with me.
She's actually pretty helpful!

Since both of my boys are now teenagers, the focus has changed from
keeping them entertained to keeping an eye on everything! Laughing

I thought it was supposed to be easier as they got older.
Nope- I just got grayer!! Surprised

Enjoy that time ladies- it's frightening how quickly it flies.

I recently purchased my 3 yr old daughter the hooked on phonics set & that keeps her pretty busy and at the same time she learns so much. Its as if mommy has a part-time tutor babysitter Smile

When she is not "hooked ......" I watch her drive around the yard or she'll watch some cartoons.

Note: If you plan on getting your child(ren) "hooked....." check your local Sam's, I loved the price Smile

My sons are teenagers now so they are either outside playing baseball or here at home. They don't need my constant attention as much. thanks

My 8 and 6 year old are in school. My two year old is content sitting in my lap. Sometimes he'll watch Blues Clues, color or play.

During the summer I get everything done before they wake up. Then throughout the day I'll get some work done while they play outside. I have a laptop so I can watch them and work outside.

Only my 3yo is with me during the day when I am trying to get most of my work done & she enjoys playing the other computer which is in the same room with me. She plays things like nickjr.com, pollypocket.com, disney.com,etc.
