Work at home jobs come in many shapes and sizes. From small part-time work at
home jobs to supplement your income to full-time freelance type work at home
jobs that allow you to quit your 9-5 career.

I highly recommend keeping that 9-5 career job that you have come to dread,
until you've found a suitable replacement for both your lifestyle and your
finances.
Once you've made peace with that aspect, the next mountain?
This is the hard part: Where to search for work at home jobs and what

There again..... many shapes and sizes.

I've researched work at home trends from mlms and direct sales companies to
starting a home business or telecommuting for a major company. Since 1999 I've
witnessed the dramatic increase in telecommuting work, telecommuting acceptance
and freelance hiring.
I've also had the pleasure of meeting many people just like you and I that
walked away from high paying employment with benefits, in order to jump into
direct sales with companies like Tupperware, Pampered Chef and Avon. (I think
most had some 401K money to live off of until they built their business!)
I've worked, and still do work from my home. I've done direct sales, and still

offering telecommuting positions I've found posted and more. My website, has

#4 Have Your Resume and Cover Letter Ready
This is not a joke. If you truly want to land an "employment position" with a
company that is going PAY YOU to work from your home office -- I suggest you be
as professional as possible. This is no different than applying for
any other job. Poise, professionalism, preparedness and qualifications are your
weapons. Use this artillery by presenting it in a career-minded, savvy way.
Laid-back, loosey-goosey will not equate to a "job at home".

#6 Have Patience
A good job is worth waiting for. One that fits your family, lifestyle,
aspirations and budget will not fall in your lap. It's possible --but highly
unlikely. Just take your time - look wisely.
#7 Direct Sales Offer More than Home Parties
Don't turn your nose up at direct sales. MANY are enjoying the benefits of
applying themselves to their own "business". There are literally hundreds of
legitimate career opportunities via direct sales. It's worth looking into if
you're ready to start on a part-time basis (with little up front money), and
grow your business while still keeping that "day job".

In closing - I certainly do not profess to have all the answers. I've done many
work at home jobs.. I've written city descriptions, been a chat room
moderator and even a photographer! I've designed websites and written ad
copy.... I've also done and still do direct sales with several companies that I
just fell in love with their products, support system and compensation plan.
I'm walking, talking proof that work at home jobs exist (in many shapes and
sizes!)
Take your time, and keep yourself prepared. The right thing just might be
right around the corner!
